I was following this guy on the highway not too long ago. This idiot would put his right blinker on, wait about 10 seconds, and then turn it off. He did this about 20 times. It aggravated me more and more every time. “What’s this moron doing? Did you get your license in a Kracker Jacks box?!” I was really getting annoyed. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I decided to change lanes to let him know he was a crappy driver with the old evil eye. I put on my left turn signal because I’m the best driver in the World. It clicked TWICE. “Hmmm,” I thought, “my right blinker was on.” I turned it off and stayed in my lane. He didn’t hit his right blinker again. He was trying to tell me to turn off my right blinker. I was the idiot. I thought about why it was bothering me so much. It didn’t have anything to do with the guy’s blinker. I was having a bad day. It’s not easy to stay positive reacting to things that might be annoyances, but it’s a muscle that gets stronger the more it’s worked. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to the gym that day.

Everybody has days ridden with mistakes, it’s how you deal with them. If in doubt, have a slice of cake!

I agree that we all have those days. I’ll take your advice, “If in doubt, have a slice of cake!” I’m certain I like cake. 🙂

I don’t think you were the first person to have something like that happen – which I decided to say just to cheer you up. I had someone in front of me flashing for ages once. I was alone in the car and had no intention of pulling over and getting out to talk to him on a quiet road. It wasn’t until I turned off and a couple of others flashed me, that I realised my fog lights were on in bright daylight. (Illegal, over here.) So that first bloke was just trying to be helpful. My pig-headedness could have got me a steep fine if any cops had been around. We all have bad days and make mistakes, so just put it behind you. 🙂

Thank-you for the kind comments and story, Millie! I try to learn from situations such as that one and instead of beating myself up. I’m blessed to have a silly and happy disposition (at least I’m told) but have some bad days like we all do. 🙂

Yes, I can identify with that. I spend most of my life seeing the funny side of things – sometimes to the annoyance of others! Have a great day, Shawn. 🙂

Sometimes we really have to think first before we act.

Absolutely, J.Gi. The more often we react in a positive way, the more of a natural reaction it becomes. 🙂
